Paula-Abdul.net Has Relaunched!

Image
Dear Fans and Friends, I am pleased to announce the launch of the brand new, redesigned Paula-Abdul.net .  This launch culminates my vision of a building a comprehensive Paula Abdul web site that was built by the fans, for the fans. Paula-Abdul.net continues to this day and, for the last 17 years, to be the largest Paula Abdul web site on the Internet. I started building my Paula Abdul web site in 1997 because I didn’t like having to visit multiple web sites to get current information on Paula’s various projects. Based on a bet from my brother that I would never learn HTML, I picked up a book and used my love of Paula Abdul’s music as my inspiration for learning how to build a web site. I figured if I could indirectly help create more interest in Paula Abdul and her music, and thereby help sell more records, she may be able to release more music which I enjoy. Flash forward two years and in the fall of 1999 I received a call from Keith Lewis (Music Producer on “Card...

Kylie Minogue Kiss Me Once Album Review

Image
Kiss Me Once is the 12th studio album by Australian recording artist Kylie Minogue. It was released March 18 2014, and is her first studio album release since Aphrodite (2010), and first album under the management of Jay Z's Roc Nation. The first song and first single "Into the Blue" was written by Kelly Sheehan, Mike Del Rio and Jacob Kasher. The song incorporates instrumentation from strings, guitars and synthesizers; as well as being generalized as part of the electronic dance music genre. If you know anything about my critiques of music, you’ll know that I believe the first single released is the most important release of an album so it’s very important for the record label to get the first single right.  As with most of Kylie’s singles – the label once again picked the wrong song to use as the first single for the album. Parlophone had it right with “Spinning Around” as the first single from the “Light Years” album and “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” from her...

Enigma 8 Music Wishlist - How I Would Fix Enigma

Image
You may be wondering... "What Is Enigma?" Enigma is a musical project founded in Germany by Michael Cretu, David Fairstein and Frank Peterson in 1990. Cretu is both the composer and the producer of the project. His former wife Sandra often provided vocals on Enigma tracks. Jens Gad co-arranged and played guitar on three of the Enigma albums. Peter Cornelius also contributed to Enigma during the 1990s. In December 1990, after eight months of preparation, Cretu released Enigma's debut album, "MCMXC a.D.", which received over 60 platinum-level sales awards worldwide, and topped the charts in 41 countries, becoming the most successful Virgin records act of those times. Although from the late 1970s onward, Michael Cretu already had his own music career on his hands and apart from some collaboration efforts with several other musicians, the album was Cretu's first commercial success through the single "Sadeness (Part I)," which juxtaposed Gregorian chan...
